CHELSEA are going back for Radja Nainggolan in January – and are willing to let Nemanja Matic go if it means landing the Roma midfielder.
Antonio Conte unsuccessfully pursued Nainggolan over the summer but ultimately failed to convince the Serie A giants to let one of their key players leave.
But he believes that the Belgian is a must-buy and will try his luck again in January – with Matic allowed to go to Manchester United.
According to Belgium daily Nieuwsblad, Nainggolan is now thought to be unhappy with his situation at the Stadio Olimpico after being snubbed over a new deal.
He stayed on the promise of a new contract which still hasn’t come to fruition.
Conte would reportedly be happy to release Matic to United if it meant freeing up funds, and squad space, to bring in the Belgian.
With N’Golo Kante continuing to flourish, Nainggolan would be the ideal candidate to partner him in midfield.
The midfielder began his career at Piacenza before a 2010 switch to Cagliari.
After four seasons he made the move to Roma, where he has impressed ever since with his high-energy style.
