Luis Suarez has spoken out about his Atletico Madrid future after winning the La Liga title.
The Uruguayan has enjoyed a sensational year since leaving Barcelona, scoring 21 goals, including the winner in their final day victory over Real Valladolid, to help Diego Simeone’s men be crowned Spanish champions.
Such form has seen him linked with a return to Liverpool, with some reports speculating he has a clause in his contract that will let him leave Atletico for free this summer.
But Suarez has quashed any suggestion of a return to Anfield when the 34-year-old was quizzed about his future following his latest La Liga win.
“Yes, I’m sure (I’ll stay),” Suarez told Spanish TV network Movistar Plus.
“Atletico welcomed me from the minute I arrived. I asked the club if there was room for me on the museum wall to make history at Atletico.”
